The Graduate Record Examinations is a standardized test that is an admissions requirement for many graduate schools in the United States and Canada. Which is owned and administered by the Educational Testing Service.

The test was established in 1936 by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Hence, the GRE test is basically the most famous general proficiency test in the world. is one major criterion to secure admission to this school.

What Is The Difference Between GMAT VS GRE?

The most significant difference between the GMAT and the GRE is that the GRE is used as part of admissions for a wide variety of graduate school programs, while the GMAT is only used to apply to business schools.

The internet-based GMAT can take up to 3 hours and 7 minutes to complete, while the GRE is two hours and 3 hours 45 minutes.

Also, Gmat is a Computer-based test, and the Gre is Computer-based and paper-based (where computer-based tests are not available).

Furthermore, we will be talking about the six main differences.

You Can Read This What is the Use of the GMAT Exam in 2022?

The Six Main Difference Are:

1. MATHS:

Experts say the GMAT tends to focus more on quantitative questions when compared to the GRE. In other words, students with stronger math skills may want to take the GMAT in order to show those skills,

So, if you plan to apply to a program that values math skills, that program may look more favorably on the GMAT than the GRE.

2. LANGUAGE:

On a lighter tone, the GRE’s verbal section tends to be more difficult than the GMAT, especially for non-native English speakers. This is to say the GRE verbal section is generally more difficult than the GMAT verbal section.

3. CAREER CHOICE:

If you’re interested in pursuing a management consulting or investment banking career, it may be wiser and better to stick with the GMAT.

In other words, the test does place a heavier focus on quantitative and analytical skills – interpreting data presented in text, charts, and tables to solve complex problems.

4. TESTING ANXIETY

The difference between GMAT and GRE is how they’re proctored and taken. For example, the GRE allows you to skip and return to questions in each section which can help reduce testing anxiety.

Also, it allows them to let go more easily, whereas, on the GMAT, they might get completely stuck and really mess up their timing, and therefore, their score.

5. TEST PREP

When comparing the two exams, the GMAT tends to have more readily available practice testing materials. While the GRE offers five official practice exams, GMAC (which administers the GMAT) offers six.

“One of the biggest challenges for those prepping for the GRE is the relative lack of official materials, relative to what one can get from GMAC

6. SCORE REPORTING:

When it comes to reporting scores, the GRE tends to be more lenient. Also, repeat GRE test takers can choose which of their GRE scores they want to report to schools.

Now we are back to the main question of the day, which is:

Which Test Is Easier GRE Or GMAT?

Before you consider sitting for either a GRE or GMAT exam, you should have made up your mind about the school you want to attend.

If so, you can choose GMAT if you only want to apply to a business school and choose GRE if you’re still undecided on the type of graduate program.

However, both exams (Gmat and Gre) are similar in this regard when it comes to the overall difficulty level. So, to answer this question we are going to point out which section of both the tests (quant and verbal) is relatively difficult.

For GMAT Verbal vs GRE Verbal:

The emphasis of the GMAT verbal section is on grammar and reasoning whereas GRE verbal questions primarily focus on testing your vocabulary. In other words, GRE verbal tests challenge vocabulary, and GMAT Verbal tends to be slightly easier.

For GMAT Quantitative vs GRE Quantitative:

GMAT Quantitative is harder than GRE Quantitative. GMAT Quantitative tests your problem-solving skills, and the data sufficiency questions are quite challenging.

Also, GRE allows you to use a calculator and GMAT does not, even though GRE quantitative questions are easier than GMAT’s

In other words, the GMAT may be easier for you if you prefer logic problems over geometry questions because there are more geometry questions on the GRE.
